Our Crew

We are very proud of our crew, and below you can meet them. If you want to become a casual crew member, then contact us with the link below.

Gus

Gus works on the bow... you might say bowman in training - BIT!

Neale - aka "Nad"

Hugely experienced and acid tongued. More than one of us has been lashed after episodes of mediocre personal performance. Neale contributes a lot of "can do" attitude to our team and when we don’t "do" he lets us know. He has loads of offshore and inshore experience at top level and of course Neale is responsible for building our fantastic Quantum sails. He provides tactical and development advice for the boat and enjoys helping the team learn the skills to make us go faster.

Helen - aka "Salty Helen"

I can't really sail or in fact, see, so figure I'd fit right in. I can drink alot of Guinness in a very short space of time and not spew while at sea.

Brian - aka "Adventurer"

Brian is the adventure nut of the crew. Into anything as long as it involves adrenaline we welcome him back on board after a year away travelling.

Marcus - aka "Aren't you cold?"

The most musically talented of our team, Marcus has lived sailing ever since childhood and his experience shows. Marcus has sailed on just about everything and he has huge knowledge of everything sailing. More recently Marcus has pioneered the denim and sneaker range of wet weather gear and is renowned for his relaxed attitude.

Gavin - aka "Gav"

Gav has had a couple of seasons with us, prior to that he sailed on a 60 foot cruiser. We think he thought his throat was cut with the complete lack of comfort initially however he seems to have adapted very well. Gav’s skills are legendary in the galley although his press-pot coffee is significantly below average. If the going is rough and something needs doing down below Gav’s the man.

Jason - aka "J"

Jason has been with us from the start.
A total newbie to sailing he was promoted from "Sewer Rat" to Bow.
"J" is most famous for his sound effects while suffering from sea sickness during his first Brothers Race, his love of the snack box (particularly perky nana’s) and blistering speed packing the spinnaker.

Alistair - aka "ZPB"(Zimbabwian Bucket P*%#R)

You don’t want to know how ‘Z’ got his nickname. It was a nasty experience for all of us. ‘Z’ is particularly fond of Chinese food, Karaoke and drinking also known to contribute to our Kangaroo court fines. Always smiles despite struggling with seasickness on bumpy days. ‘Z’ works the mast.

Janine - aka "Janine"

Janine joined us last year. Loads of sailing experience most recent exotic sojourn was a regatta in Sydney. Janine is our Race Committee rules expert, ‘Wind Talker’ and do anything crew member. Hell has no fury like Janine on a crusade for fair treatment. She has been known to defend us against foul protest, sip Bombay Sapphire with the best of them and also known to have a certain fondness for chocolate if the snack box is being passed around and is totally committed.

Tonia - aka "TJ"

TJ is the Flying Circus co-owner and Minister of Finance. A sailor from childhood she hasn’t been out much over the winter series due to other sporting priorities. TJ can handle the rough stuff and is most creative with the on board menu for the off shores which are her favourite races. She provides the duty free rum during her many overseas trips and lunches are always better when she picks them. Favourite crew spot is spinnaker trimmer.

Craig - aka "Craig"

Craig has been with us since the beginning starting off as rookie mast man then bow then was demoted to the beer garden. Comes from a family of sailors and keen as you can find anywhere. Has every tool known to man and then some and can fix just about anything. Calm under pressure and can do pretty much anything on the boat after two seasons.

Graeme - aka "GJ"

GJ is co-owner and likes to think he can influence the minister of finance. Has sailed lots of different boats. Most famous for meeting TJ while sailing back in the dark ages she was bow on her Dad’s keeler, he was Bow on another boat. Likes nothing better than loud music, good food and working as part of a team of like minded people and competitive racing.

This could be you!

Have you got what it takes to join this fantastic bunch? Contact us at the email link at the bottom of the page, and you could be a part of this great fun experience.
